(I’m here to help.)

I’m Dr. Leslie Appiah. I’ve been where you are!

Are you struggling to achieve your career or reproductive goals?

I’m uniquely qualified to coach you in these areas because I’ve spent my life immersed in the medical community as a physician specializing in the gynecologic needs of women and professor in academic medicine. I noticed an alarming trend, women are not getting the support they need to make their dreams a reality.

Women have trusted me to help them navigate through some of the most important journeys of life, their career and becoming a parent.

Instead of sitting on the sidelines and bemoaning the problem, I decided to be part of the solution. I’m passionate about helping women thrive in their academic medical careers and also when visiting the doctor about their reproductive health. I’m ready to use all I know to empower you.

It all Sprang From humble Texas roots…

I was raised in Austin, Texas, and take pride in being from the Lonestar State, where everything was decidedly “bigger and better”. I knew from an early age what direction I wanted my life to take, that I would be instrumental in bringing healthy children into the world to healthy mothers.

And when It Was Time to Pursue My Dream of Becoming a doctor….

My educational journey took me to Baylor University for my undergraduate studies, the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School for my medical degree, and then to a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. After this, I completed a research fellowship in reproductive genetics at Baylor College of Medicine and a clinical fellowship in Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology at Texas Children’s Hospital. The current city I call home is Denver, CO. I love everything the magnificent state has to offer. I am married to my perfect match and have two precocious, compassionate, and hilariously clever children.

My interest in the reproductive health of young girls & women was ignited...

I became passionate about improving the reproductive health of girls and women when I had the opportunity to care for an adolescent girl born with a reproductive tract abnormality that threatened her future fertility.

I have since focused my clinical and research interests on preserving the fertility and reproductive health of pediatric, adolescent, and young adult (AYA) patients with cancer and endometriosis, and hormone therapy in girls and women with premature and natural-onset menopause.

I have published 50 peer-reviewed manuscripts and book chapters and given over 100 national and international lectures and workshops on women’s and children’s reproductive health. As an accomplished leader in academic medicine, I have helped develop the careers of aspiring early- and mid-career physicians across numerous specialties.
