A phenomenal physician and patient advocate!
Dr. Appiah is a phenomenal physician and patient advocate who was compassionate and sensitive to all aspects of my story. As a Black woman over forty with a strong faith-based foundation, she understood my need to partner with a physician who didn’t see me as “broken”. She supported me by helping me understand that I wasn’t the only one and provided an action plan to help me have the family I desired. She ‘saw me’ and reassured me that although my path may be different I could still do this. She understood and met my need. She truly cares for women.

A sounding board concerning my reproductive health.
Dr. Leslie has always been a sounding board concerning my reproductive health and once I married at 39 she became my “go to” for sound unbiased medical advice in addition to my local OB/GYN. She always reminded me “having a healthy baby is a miracle because all things have to lineup.” I was able to conceive naturally and gave birth at 40. When I was ready to conceive again, I couldn’t. It took two years to conceive again and then I suffered two miscarriages. For both miscarriages, I consulted Dr. Leslie. She asked me two very important questions, ”was I done with having children because I was truly ready to be done”, or “was I done because I was afraid to have another miscarriage.” I was afraid. She provide reassurance about the likelihood of a successful pregnancy the third time and also suggested I try CoQ10 to support my ovarian reserve. Well…her advice was spot on! I tried again, took CoQ10, and had a healthy baby boy at 44 naturally. Dr. Leslie is amazing and I have since passed on her consistent and sound advice to others. She can be trusted to speak the truth in love, putting her patients’ wishes first. My family will forever be grateful to Dr. Leslie for encouraging me to ‘try again’!
